Light, yet also deep and rooted

free from musical classification, combining modernity and tradition. Steeped in classical Tunisian music which is often characterized by stagnation and routine .
DENYA is a musical project that blends the authenticity of traditional Tunisian music with modern arrangements and original poetic phrases.

DENYA

DENYA is the result of years of hard work, research, exploration, and experimentation in multiple musical registers, including traditional Tunisian music, sufi rhythms, popular music, folk songs, and others. This project is carried out by Mohamed Ali Chebil and Mohamed Ben Salha, who bring their unique perspectives and talents to the creation of this musical experience. DENYA offers an answer to moments of questioning, of conjecture, of the self. The acceptance of the present moment in its simplicity, of a feeling in its spontaneity.

The project positions itself within a lineage of rebellion against the rigidity of conformity, while remaining faithful to the very essence of Tunisian music. DENYA is a project that blends opposites to create a duality that reflects the bitterness of reality lined with the sweetness of dreams.
